Autism

Autism is also called Autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and Pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). The diagnosis of this kind of disorder is usually found in early years of childhood. Some of the main signs and symptoms that reveal the several aspects of Autism in a child comprise of communication, social interactions and their behavior is prone to be repetitive. Some of the characteristics that may arise in children due to autism are that while talking it is possible that they might not communicate with you while looking at you. Their behaviors are completely different from other children and can be identified easily.

Though the exact cause of autism is not known, there is every possibility that the state of autism may stay with a person throughout his or her life. There is no such permanent cure available; however availing treatment may be quite helpful. So improvements are not impossible in such people who show positive signs of autism. Often it is seen that children having this kind of disease react in unusual ways to what happens around them. Sounds which are normal for normal individuals may be extremely difficult for these austic individuals to cope up which results in abnormal behavior.

It is also true that while normal kids can make out certain things normally and can connect with their surrounding in a better way, children suffering from autism often find it difficult to reason out things that are much easier for the normal kids. A kid who has autism also has difficulty connecting words with their respective meanings. You can well imagine the situation when you do not understand what your mother is saying if you didn't know the meaning of the words said by her. It is even more annoying then if a kid can't get nearer the right words to articulate his or her own thoughts.

Autism can cause children to act in various strange ways. They might flutter their hands, say certain words more than once have annoying tantrums, may even be fussy with a particular toy. Most kids with autism don't like changes in monotonous life. They like to continue with the schedule and any kind of change is not desirable for them. They also may be adamant about their toys, objects to be arranged in a certain way and get upset if anything is disturbed.

Medical research has shown that when somebody has autism, his or her brain has difficulty in making sense of the world around them. And this is their main problem, not being able to connect with which they wish to but they are not being able to. The brain interprets sight, sound, smell, and other sensations that you experience, now imagine your brain not helping you to understand these things, and you will come to a startling conclusion which is, you will have trouble working, talking, doing everyday stuff in your life.
